Members of the public and press are welcome to attend council meetings at 6.30pm. The venue may change for each meeting. The venue will be added to the agenda.

The ordinary meetings for 2023 will be held on the following dates:

Rules of Public Participation

Ordinary meetings include a Public and Members question time. The aim of this process is to give registered voters and members of the council an opportunity to raise issues concerning the Parish of Warsop.

What You Can't Ask

The Chairman may reject a question if it:

Is not about a matter that Warsop Parish Council is responsible for or does not affect the parish.
Is defamatory, frivolous or offensive.
Is substantially the same question which has been put at a meeting of the council in the past 6 months.
Concerns confidential or exempt information.

Addressing The Council

Registered voters may present a question which is relevant to matters that the Parish Council is responsible for or which affects Warsop Parish.

Procedure on The Day of The Meeting (if you are asking a question)

When it is time to ask your question, the chair will invite you to put the question to the member.
Unless the chair decides otherwise, no discussion shall take place on any question.
Questions will not be received by the Council which are in furtherance of a person's individual circumstances.

Public/Members question time at council meetings will not exceed 20 minutes in duration unless the Chairman allows otherwise.

Standing Orders

A copy of these Standing Orders shall be given to each Member by the Clerk upon delivery to him/her of the Member's declaration of acceptance of office and written undertaking to observe the Code of Conduct adopted by the Council.

Warsop Parish Council has adopted Mansfield District's Council's Code of Conduct.
