RESOLVED: Agreed and accepted as a true record.
4/2003. CRIME AND DISORDER – REPORT FROM THE WARSOP POLICE TEAM
No police in attendance or written report submitted. The Clerk retrieved some crime data from the Notts Police website for January 2023. Cllrs commented that due to the way incidents are reported and categorised the data required more information from the police.
RESOLVED: The council asked the Clerk to contact the local police team requesting that they attend meetings or provide a report as per the statement from Inspector Davies. The Clerk will also remind the local team that they submit updates to Warsop Parish News.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Mr Dave Spivey raised concerns about the Stonebridge development plots and visitor parking spaces.
Ms Sylvia Robinson asked the council if anything had been done with the petition, she submitted last year about the traffic measures that are to be introduced on Vale Avenue and Mansfield Road from the Stonebridge housing development.
She also asked if there was any truth to the possibility of houses being built on the green space between the Ford garage and the bridge on Mansfield Road.
Mr John Downie raised concerns about traffic enforcement officers and the effect they are having on local businesses. He reported that he had been informed that he couldn’t leave his vehicle to unload otherwise he would be ticketed, and customers are receiving parking tickets. He stated that he had been told the traffic enforcement officers have been told to clamp down on illegal parking. He mentioned that he had seen the traffic enforcement officers hiding and then issuing a ticket instantly. He asked why there has been a change in the way these officers are doing their job.
5/2003. MATTERS ARISING FROM PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
The Clerk was unable to minute the responses to the questions raised by the members of the public due to Cllrs Burgin and Barlow breaking Standing Orders.
Once Standing Orders were being observed, Cllr Burgin proposed that the council write to NCC about any changes in parking enforcement policies and what is the legislation on parking on pavements.
RESOLVED: The council agreed to write to NCC about parking enforcement policies and legislation on parking on pavements.
