MINUTES of the Extraordinary Parish Council meeting held on MONDAY 1st OCTOBER, 2018 at 6.00pm upstairs in the Council Chamber, Town Hall.

9890. INTRODUCTION BY THE CHAIR
The council set up an interview panel which included Cllrs J. Cockroft, A. Burgin & L. Davis to interview the 3 candidates that applied for the Meden Ward vacancy. The candidates were asked 5 questions and each interviewer scored each question out of 5.
She informed the council of each candidates score and ran through the details on the answers they gave. Cllrs then discussed the candidates and their answers.
9892. DECISIONS BY PAPER BALLOT
All councillors were handed a ballot paper with the names of all 3 candidates on and asked to vote for 1 candidate. Once councillors voted, all the papers were put in an envelope and handed to the Clerk. The Clerk counted the votes and then checked them again with the Chair, each count was correct. The Clerk read out the name of the successful candidate, Wayne Williamson-Cooper.
9893. CHAIR TO DECLARE DECISION OF THE COUNCIL
The Chair thanked all the candidates for attending and she congratulated and welcomed the new member Wayne Williamson-Cooper. She expressed her commiserations to the unsuccessful candidates and thanked them for taking the time to apply to the council. She stated they could apply again in May when the elections take place.

The Chair thanked everyone for attending and closed the meeting at 6.30pm.
